Intense Pulsed Light

Restore Your Skin's Youth with Intense Pulsed Light Therapy

At Los Angeles Acne Center, IPT photorejuvenation is our exciting new breakthrough service. This therapy uses a broad spectrum of light to produce remarkable results on a wide range of skin conditions. By promoting the production of new collagen, you can reduce the appearance of common problems such as fine lines, age spots, sun-induced freckles, acne rosacea, and broken capillaries.

This procedure can also safely treat unwanted imperfections on your face, neck, chest, arms, and hands. As a minimally-invasive treatment, this process can be tailored to the individual. With only a few days of downtime, it can be combined with other treatments such as Botox and subcision.

Procedure Information

A cold gel is applied to the area to be treated and you may be given dark glasses to protect your eyes from the bright lights. Pulses of light that penetrate deep down in your skin are then applied through a smooth glass hand piece. You may feel a slight sting, best likened to the snapping of a rubber band. While the anesthetic cream is available, it is rarely needed.

The treatment is usually performed in a series of four to six sessions of about twenty minutes each. This allows for gradual improvement, very low risk, and little to no downtime. You will possibly be able to return to work the same day and continue with your daily routine immediately. Individual results may vary, please consult your doctor to see if you are a good candidate.

What Conditions Can IPL Treat?

Photorejuvenation using IPL can correct a variety of benign skin conditions. This includes facial skin imperfections, the signs of photo-aging, birthmarks, unwanted hair, unsightly small veins, broken capillaries, and other blemishes. The effects of aging and sun damage can effectively be treated without causing any damage to the surrounding skin as well.
